Hi, I'm Jen Blanchette

TBI Therapist was founded by Dr. Jen Blanchette with the mission of helping those affected by brain injury and neurodiversity. Our goal is to provide compassionate care and support, while also providing education and resources to therapists, caregivers, and loved ones. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity for total recovery, and we are committed to helping them achieve it.

At TBI Therapist, we believe that understanding your brain and thriving in your relationships starts with total brain health. In our modern world, our brains are already in a war for maintaining attention at work or play. Through much study and training in the nervous system, physical health, trauma, and psychological techniques, we’ve developed a four part framework for optimizing your brain health which will aid in thriving relationships, productivity, and improved mental wellness. Dr. Blanchette provides the support you need to understand yourself better so you can thrive in all areas of life.

Hi, I'm Jen Blanchette

Hey there! I’m Dr. Jen Blanchette, a licensed psychologist, former private practice owner, and therapist burnout consultant. I understand the struggles you face as a therapist or heart-focused professional. Your work is all about serving others, but it often leads to burnout knocking at your door time and time again.

I’ve been there myself, feeling the desire to leave my role as a trauma therapist during the pandemic.  Amidist a raging pandemic, I also explore the fit between 1:1 therapy with my temperament and desires. What I needed most was support, guidance, and someone who may have been there before.

Whether you need help navigating burnout or finding the courage to speak the words that you can’t do therapy anymore, I’m here to support you. Together, we’ll work towards finding the support you need, whether it means redefining your practice or exploring new paths.

Using a neuroscience-based approach, I’ll help you create space to find the answers you’re seeking. Let’s start with a free consultation where we can identify your burnout and determine the next steps to help you love or leave your role as a therapist.

Not too long ago, I was just like you…

Feeling trapped and stagnant as a therapist amidst the chaos of a relentless pandemic. The therapy room became a battleground of emotions with the added weight of a looming election.

As a parent to young children, the stress piled on, intensifying the already heavy burden of emotional labor in caring for my clients. Ultimately, I decided to quit my role as a therapist due to the pressure, burnout, and trauma of that time.

I understand the deep need for more resources tailored to therapists.

Whether you’re contemplating a departure from the field, seeking to redefine your practice, or longing to break free from an unrelenting agency job, I’m here to support you on every step of your unique journey.

Meet Dr. Jen

I’m a licensed psychologist with a deep passion for understanding and supporting people. As a lifelong learner, I’ve got not one, not two, but four psychology degrees! My areas of clinical specialty include neurodiversity, brain injuries and trauma. I hold credentials as a Certified Brain Injury Professional, Certified Heart-Math Biofeedback Professional and Certified EMDR therapist.

In my current roles, I consult with a local school district, focusing on trauma, neurodiversity, and child development. I also provide risk and safety assessments and fully trained in the CSTAG model. I also contract with a mental health agency, providing EMDR consultation and training for therapists.

When I’m not in the therapy room, I love exploring the breathtaking outdoors of Maine. Hiking, skiing, and spending quality time with my boys keep me grounded. I am passionate about fitness and hold my certification as a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Personal Trainer.  And one of my favorite pastimes as  an active and competitive tennis player!

If you’re a therapist who’s considering redefining your practice or even leaving the field altogether, I’m here to help. Let’s have a conversation and explore how I can support you in this journey. Book a call with me today, and together, we’ll navigate the path towards finding fulfillment and purpose in your professional life
